I knew Richard briefly at University, but he was more a friend of friends. My lasting memory of him was in a university review (I think it was Green Is The Colour of Mike Truelove's Hare) performing what seemed to me a difficult dance routine with a bold smile on his face. The next year I was in a Uni Review, inspired by him.
He also impressed me with his modesty and joie de vivre. Rest In Peace gentle soul.
