I played a local gig with Marcie around 10 years ago, and she was on the bill directly before my band. She was very down to earth and a delight to work with.  :ssad: :vsad:

Sad news of yet another from my childhood departing this mortal coil. Marcie didn't have all that many hits but was on the telly a lot and continued performing right up near the end.
Marcie always seemed to be full of life.  RIP

Sad news Hector  one of our lassies from the sixties  :(  RIP Marcie sounds like she went quickly small mercy.
That's right mate, I suppose it's the best way to go rather than suffer  :'(

R.I.P. Marcie Jones  1945 - 2025       :vsad:


Australian singer born in 1945 who sang Blue-Eyed Soul and Northern Soul.
She started singing in 1960 aged fifteen with the Thunderbirds at Canterbury Ballroom and Preston Town Hall.

She then joined Normie Rowe and The Playboys.
Marcie has toured with The Seekers, The Monkeys, Cliff Richard, Tom Jones and supported Gene Pitney on five national tours.

During 1969 and 1970, Marcie & The Cookies performed throughout Asia, Europe and then the United Kingdom with Cliff Richard and the Shadows.

She had only announced a few days ago that she was battling leukemia, and sadly passed away last night.
