Live Wire! Jokes & Humor Forum / Subject: Is this you
« Last post by deutros on Tue 19 Mar 2019 07:39:17 »
This one was sent to me by our own John G. thought it was funny enough to post here thanks Dr. John. Subject: Is this you

Two guys grow up together, but after college one moves to Maryland and the other to Texas. They agree to meet every ten years in Vero Beach, Florida, to play golf and catch up with each other.

At age 32 they meet, finish their round of golf and head for lunch.

"Where do you wanna go?"

"Hooters."

"Why Hooters?"

"They have those broads with the big racks, the tight shorts and the gorgeous legs."

"You're on!"

At age42, they meet and play golf again.

"Where you wanna go for lunch?"

"Hooters."

"Again? . . . Why?"

"They have cold beer, big screen TVs, and side action on the games."

 "Oh, OK!"

At age 52 they meet and play again. "So where you wanna go for lunch?"

"Hooters.

"Why for the love of God?"

"The food is pretty good and there's plenty of parking."

"OK."

At age 62 they meet again.

After a round of golf, one says "Where you wanna go?"

"Hooters."

"Why, we went there last year and the previous years?"

"Wings are half price and the food isn't too spicy."

"Good choice"

At age72 they meet again.

Once again, after a round of golf, one says "Where shall we go for lunch?"

"Hooters."

"Why? Isn't there somewhere else we could go?"

"They have six handicapped parking spaces right by the door and they have senior discounts."

"Beauty! Great choice."

At age 82 they meet and play again. "Where should we go for lunch?"

"Hooters."

"Why?"

"Because we've never been there before."

"Okay, sounds like a good idea.

Promoting New Artists / 2019 Australian Blues "Chain" Awards
« Last post by terryh on Sun 24 Feb 2019 01:37:51 »
Went to the Australian Blues Festival at  Goulburn earlier in the month. A great laid back festival where all the music is free on the second weekend of February every year. Lloyd Seigal & Simon Kiney-Lewis took out the 2019 Chain awards but some great new artists & a couple of lesser known in Australia worth keeping a look out for if you're interested in blues based rock music.
Dean Haitani & 8 Ball Aitken are probably both better known in the USA than they are here at home but both were a knockout.
Andrea Marr & John McNamara, performing as McNamarr Duo had just returned from the international blues knockout in Memphis where they represented Australia and although they were knocked out in the semi finals they signed a recording contract with a major label.
Of the other artists I saw The Vibrolators with Miss Peta Lee and Pat Eyre Duo stand out.
A great weekend & one to put in the diary for next year with music in the park all weekend and long into the night & early morning at the various clubs &  hotels around town.
The only complaint I heard all weekend was from Dean Haitani that he drew the 10am start in the park on Sunday but like a true professional he played on to the delight of the audience. Might see you there next year as all else being well I'll be back.
Cheers,
Terry

I had a quick look and discovered that "Spirit Of Australia" is by UK surf band Surfin' Lungs. (Official website / Wikipedia)

Here 'tis:

Surfin' Lungs - "Spirit Of Australia" (1990) (FLAC)

 :hihi:
Can anyone help me on info concerning a song titled: [Spirit Of Australia] (not by Slim Dusty)?
Only info I've got that it's an album track #2 and it's 2:51 long and sounds surf/garage or like Jan & Dean, or a copycat-Beach Boys.
@ the end I can hear a didge. And I know of a boat, the boat  :hahaha::thankx:)
