Hmmmm, looks suspiciously similar to the meltdown at Sydney's Tamarama beach ...

Perhaps it's a basic design flaw in Mr Whippy vans ... not suited to Australian conditions  :D

BTW, when did ice cream vans start sprouting a red flashing emergency light on the roof  :o

This brings back painful memories.
My Mum used to tell me they played music when they were out of ice cream!  :'(

"Greensleeves" wasn't it? (Lassie come home).... Just down where I live, there used to be what looked like a graveyard for Mr Whippy vans that didn't work anymore. Broken icecream machines I suspected ...  :'(

Sounding exactly like this on their last legs : http://www.mutopiaproject.org/ftp/Traditional/Greensleaves/Greensleaves.mid (http://www.mutopiaproject.org/ftp/Traditional/Greensleaves/Greensleaves.mid)

Yep, it was Greensleeves.
A bit of trivea: Greensleeves was written by King Henry 8th - in between killing off his wives. :D
