The longstanding (since resolved) dispute between Norman and John Barry about who wrote the James Bond theme (vs only arranged/did both) is covered in the Wikipedia article.  .. Norman 'won' = royalties ++++.

Until James Bond became a recurring item the melody was known as "The Theme From Dr. No".  Normie Rowe's Playboys did a version,  with the latter as the recorded title...
