I found it from the (rumours of my demise have been exaggerated) ausrock blog which I found via the friendly sites link list on another defunct ausmusic blog.

It was inside a folder containing "Aussie Superstars - 20 Great Stars/20 Great Hits", I procured (via. Rapidshare) from K-TEL blogspot (http://kay-tel.blogspot.com/) and many thanks for posting it... :)

I found it through the blog & I found the blog just a few days back when I googled "Madder Lake" +Stillpoint, in the search for a decent cover image to use in my mp3s (This was much quicker than me finding the CD in my collection & scanning the insert).
-
I found it through a google search for spy vs spy
Now you'll have trouble trying to get rid of me ;D

I just managed to stumble across it somehow....it must of been only a week or so after the site opened. It was just after thinking how we needed a great aussie site like this.
I had a heap of songs I needed to get identified...lots being aussie songs. I happened to mention it one day, and before I knew it there was a section on music ID's. Every song I needed an id, did get identified. And a lot of the songs right here at Ausrock. :)

I just followed a link from another site and ended up here

Umm, I was checking up on some old of my releases and seen what i thought may have been a few of my original relases had been reposted at the Ausrock blog and i thought sweet, i aint the only joker getting ausrock out there and joined in the fun that soon became this place. ;D
At the time i was pretty much ignorant of blogs and rapidhsare(etc) and all that was to offer via 'em.
I've been servin up Aussie rock to the community in some form or another pretty much since mp3's have been around..97/98 i think.

My mate showed me!
-
Saw it in the NFO of a Billy Thorpe CD I downloaded.
Liked the idea of an Aussie music forum so here I am.
Hopefully you'll be stuck with me for a while :D
-
I think someone posted a link on the message board section of the Ausrock blog (the fantastic thread about
"requests, shares etc part 2").
-
By pure luck.
I was in another forum, but it had closed and reopened and i couldn't use my password, so i forgot about it for a while.
A friend told me about this one, so i had a look.
Looks good..I will stay :) :)

I first found the blog through a search engine. Not sure what I was searching for at the time, but possibly Models, Mentals or The Little Heroes...yes that was it. The Little Heroes. I used to have the vinyl of their Play By Numbers album but it seems to have disappeared at some time over the years.
So I found the blog and "obtained" stuff from there for a while before writing to skids and asking how to go about joining and uploading stuff. I had never winrared an album before and certainly never uploaded anything to the web. I never knew of the existence of anything like rapidshare or megaupload or photobucket. I certainly learned a lot and very quickly. Once I started doing this stuff I then knew that I had to do something about my internet speed and allowance which at the time was pretty poor.
Ok I'll go now and stop boring you.

Someone gave me a copy of Sharon O'Neill's "Danced In The Fire" today and it inspired me to hunt for her earlier albums... Didn't find them but I found this cool board instead!
-
I came via Bazzil's blog "Prehistoric Sounds", while looking for the song names and band names for a couple of songs I had on tape from the 80's that I'd never been able to identify. I had the lyrics and a possible name for one of the songs. He suggested this forum, and it was a great call. Motcher76 had them identified inside an hour and a half, probably as soon as he saw them! ;)

I'm a big fan of searching using search engines, for example I would search Google by using the advanced search terms like this:
Models I Hear Motion site:blogspot.com
Ausrock.blogspot.com turned up, and I followed the forum link, thinking I would find like minded people. ;)
Looks like I did good.

I stumbled across it whilst searching for the John Dowler album, Low Society.
Incidentally, I later discovered that there's a link to the forum on the Ausrock (http://ausrock.blogspot.com/ (http://ausrock.blogspot.com/)) home page. (Insert emoticon of someone slapping forehead...)
-
Incidentally, found it through another website while trying to locate a guy I remember from Soulseek whom I'd like to find on Facebook. He goes by the name Deutros and his first name is Tony. Completely forgot his last name. I also like Australian and Kiwi 50s-60s-70s pop although I'm American and have never set foot Downunder. My favorite singers are Dinah Lee, Maria Dallas, Little Pattie, Bev Harrell, Normie Rowe, Tony Worsley, Mister Lee Grant, and Jay Epae. My favorite groups are the Executives, the Delltones, the Valentines, and the Librettos. I am one of the few Aussie pop fans you'll ever meet who loathes the Easy Beats.
I live in Texas in America. G'day to y'all, mates!

I found it by searching for rare and obscure music and this was one of the places that came up. Since then I have heard from others that it is the place for australasian shares..and that includes NZ. why I didnt know about it earlier is beyond me. Thanks for all that you do.

It was quite weird. I was really hungry to discover some Aussie-rock which was new to me so I googled and found the blogg Ausrock. That place is a goldmine for me. Artists and bands I never before have recognised took me some time to dicover. How could it be possible that I have missed so much all those years?!
Well, then I found the link to the forum and here I am. :) :)
-

A few months back I downloaded a rapidshare zip of aussie 80's music, and the weblink was included in the folder. Didn't worry about it straight away, but I was browsing the drive last night & came across it again, and decided to have a look.
Never imagined there would be a forum like this, on a topic like this, but now I've found the place, I've realised the WWW has been screaming out for it!
-
Whilst googling old aus rockers I stumbled onto Midoztouch which had a link to ausrock.blogspot.com that unfortunately doesn`t work. I then did a bit more googling and, voila, I'm here. Not the easiest way here, I`m guessing..
-
The Angels brought me here ...... seriously, i was googling the angels for album covers and a link for an Angels album posted here by skids brought me in.
-
A friend on Facebook Michael suggested I join because of my love of great Aussie Music
-
Found out on the legendary Ausrock blog
-
I got in thru Midoztouch and links from other sites.
-
I too just stumbled across it - looking for some old Angels and Cold Chisel information.
-
A colleague of mine said I should have a look at the site, especially if you are interested in good old Aussie music. So here I am.
-
Via original ausrock blogspot site.
-
Came across the site some time ago searching for Aussie band info (and also found Midoztouch/Midoztouch2). I've been a member of a few other music sites/forums for some time and always meant to sign up to Ausrock as well, but never got around to it for some reason or another. Lately music sites featuring OZ/NZ artists are getting a bit thin on the ground so I'm always on the lookout for new information sites/sources, knowledgebases and discussion forums.
Seeing Bazzil's post about "Love Party" was the spur for me to finally join up. I'd already posted the YouTube link for Bazzil on his Prehistoric Sounds blog, but as there was also interest shown here by members I thought I should post a on Ausrock as well ... the only way I could do that was to sign-up; so here I am!
:)

I got here through a link from skids Kay-Tel blog
