I play guitar and bass. I've been involved in a few recording projects on some other boards and am wondering if any one here would be up for the same. You can check out some of my work at http://www.myspace.com/moorcowbell (http://www.myspace.com/moorcowbell)

Hi Kevin, I have played a few of your songs at myspace, nice work mate :) I really enjoyed them best of luck, I am also a big fan of Motorhead.
-
Thanks. I'd have to say Fast Eddie Clarke was an influence on my playing as well as Angus Young. I've never been able to pull off the really speedy solos or the whole tapping thing, but I've always liked the phrasing and melodies that guys like Eddie and Angus put into their solos.

I play "air guitar" ;D ;D ;D

I currently play keyboard in a couple of bands, mainly popular 50s/60s/70s/80s covers. I DJ'd for around 20yrs as well.
-
I play guitar/sing in a folk/punk band called the Ordinarys.
-
Cool, are you playing at Brown Alley, Colonial Hotel? ;)

Do you have any clips? I'd like to hear that combination.

http://www.myspace.com/theordinarys That would be our myspace site, the songs on there are pretty old, have gone through line up change about 3 months ago, so its a relief that we are finally back up to speed and giging again.
As for the Brown alley, I checked out that gig guide it's about 2 months late we were down there at the start of Augest and played the Colonial Hotel and the Tote.
We will be down that way again next year for sure, we always have a blast in Melebourne town. ;D

Been playing in bands almost 30 years. Currently have a small town blues outfit.
Appeared on 1979 Album: The borders of disgrace.
-
Yep, was in Original bands in Perth in the mid to late 80's - yes I'm old!
-
I played guitar and ultra-noisy keyboards in several local DIY postpunk bands in the 1980s. Now I'm working on putting together an all-theremin group with some friends.

I played in a latin american band in Brisbane in the 90's.
Playing guitar and charango, I was the only born here local
in the band.

Playing charango, ciao bob
so Bob...where did you get the Charango....and is it a traditional one with the armadillo body?
I bought one back from Argentina many years ago...it was weird seeing it being played in an orchestra, so just had to go out and find one to buy and bring home.
I have it hanging on the wall with a couple of other instruments I've bought back from my travels....but that's the one that gets noticed the most....and I'd swear the hairs out of the shell have grown longer over the years... ;D ;D
-
Hi Gazzastapo, I've got 3 charangos, well one actually is a ronroco which is a bit larger charango.
The first one I got was purchased here in Brisbane from some Latin Americans for a birthday
by the wife, its medium size all wood, the 2nd is a small one which I bought in Ecuador, its got
the armadillo shell sound box
and the 3rd is the ronroco a beautiful hand made instrument I bought in Bolivia from a proper
music/instrument shop, its the one I play.

WTF!!!!
The Ron Rude album! That's the guy that went on a hunger strike until 3XY play it.
I think me and three other people actually purchased it. I've also got his Piano Piano album.
Now the mystery is....(scanning my record cover liner notes)....who are you?
-
Hi NerdBurger
WTF!!!
You bought one? I hope you enjoyed it. What is your favourite track from each record?
I am one of the guitar players. Did you ever see the band live, we were better live.
Am happy to answer any questions you might have

Played drums in two bands:
Porterhouse was one from Uni with a bunch of friends but faded out when the bass player got married and lost interest in playing. Last time I saw him about 6 motnhs ago, he hasn't picked the bass up for years.
Other band was Go You Huskies (www.goyouhuskies.com) but that's on hold as we have kids and jobs. That was great fun and our main song Cubbyhouse has been on Bondi Rescue, was used for a Volvo ad (on the website) and is appearing in Gorilla Gardeners - not bad for a band not active for about 2 years.
Use to work with the guys from The Mark of Cain, they worked out of the Adelaide office and me out of Melbourne site.
-
Lego, that's pretty impressive - and something to be very proud of. Well done !! Hopefully you do a Blues Brothers and 'get the band back together' once things settle a bit! It's always hard to juggle the family/kids thing. :D
-
You never know.
Bass player is in Germany at the moment (his current band Deloris is also taking a break) but the other two are still around. Work is busy for all at the moment but never say never.
Just loaned my first kit to my niece to learn on and it's the first time my little boy saw 1/2 my drums and he goes "me drum Daddy" and my reply was "No, play guitar, it's cheaper for Mummy and Daddy and much quieter!!!"

I have a great 1975 Fender F65 guitar that I have had since new but can't play for nuts.
But I was a FOH and monitor engineer for 12 years... in the hectic 70's and early 80's... does that count? :P
