Title: No Underbelly in Melbourne !!
Post by: Hector McFreckle on Fri 15 Feb 2008 02:47:18
So the Lawyers got their way (for now), & stopped Channel 9 from showing Underbelly in Melbourne!   >:( >:( >:( I'm spewin' coz i don't normally watch telly, and it was the only thing that i was looking forward to.
To the rest of Australia: Was it any good??  ???

Same Hector

Channel 9 will be rapt in all the free publicity but spewing they can't show all around Australia.

I think the court is kidding itself  if they think they couldn't select a jury from a pool in Melbourne.   As the ratings proved last year not everyone watches 9 !

Apparently it is better than Blue Murder at this stage and that was a bloody good watch

The 5 minutes of it that I saw was great!

Why don't you just download it?

Yeah thought of that Beergut, but my Uncle is sending a DVD across from your part of Oz anyway. Someone said in the Herald Sun yesterday that it finally gave Melburnians a good reason to move to Adelaide! HeHe  ;D ;D LOL

Maaaaaate! Everyone knows that the best thing to come out of Melbourne was the road to Adelaide anyway!  ;D ;D

Although with the car race on here next weekend getting around is going to be murder for the next week.

As I said, the little I saw looked pretty good, so hope the DVD arrives OK. Like you I don't watch too much TV: too busy downloading and listening to good Oz muzak.

Don't think Melburnians (???) have to see
Code: [Select]
their streets on the telly, just open the door and walk down the street to see any trouble ..... I can assume .... no offence!

BTW... It's a good watch!

Yeah, i've seen 'em all now. You're right Doctor, I don't think episodes 11 & 13 had completed production before they were leaked. Apparently something like 57% of Melburnians have now seen (or currently watching) the series on bootleg DVDs or online. Channel 9 must be crying over this!  :)

All episodes available as Xvid HD download through torrents - or get your friends on holiday interstate to pick you up a boxed uncut copy - $50-00 at Big W....  Noted on the news as the highest selling DVD of all time in Aus... Channel 9 will be laughing all the way to the bank.. Bet Judge B will be on a contrat with nine to do a judge Judy Aussie style....

If you really like the series or haven't seen it it's worth buying the dvd set, however I thought the series on the ABC Blue Murder was better.

The DVD's worth it:

a) so you can see ALL the episodes,
b) so you can see it unedited,
c) so you can see it without ads, "banners", voice-overs, and annoying "split-screen" credits...

Got mine off eBay a few months back, dirt-cheap - eBay go through once a day, nuke the listings as soon as they find 'em, so a "Buy It Now" is the only way - be quick!!

Knowing that the listings will be cancelled, people deliberately make bids they know they won't have to honour - in one day, I saw copies at $35,000, $50,000, and $65,000!

Mind you, I still prefer "Division 4" and "Matlock Police"....
