Hello to everyone

Hi everyone. I'm surprised the name I picked was still available as I "stole" it from the best live band in Perth in the eighties, so I thought it would be long gone.

My main interests are based in the 70's, when in my youth the scene in Melbourne was really alive and there was someone or something good on every night of the week. But I don't live in the past all the time and can appreciate quality from any era.

I look forward to browsing and catching up on lots of posts, I think it will be interesting.

 Reggie Le Coq, what a cool band, remember giving the roadies a hand to fix their van? They were so appreciative of our drunken help, I don't think. Anybody know where the band went? I'm surprised they didn't make the big time.

Yes the Cobbers and the Bushwackers were on the list of bands to see weekly, plus Kevin Borich or Rose Tattoo on Wednesday nights, Rock at the Crock I think it was. Amazing to think...folk music one night, heavy rock the next, and anything from free form jazz in a small Carlton venue to AC/DC at the Myer Music Bowl and at Festival hall for their Giant Dose of Rock and Roll tour. Our tastes were varied, or did we put up with certain types of music with an alterior motive in mind?

Anyway I dwell in the past too much in this post, it onwards and forwards from now on.  Thanks for all your welcomes and I look forward to participating in a place where people have good taste and probably won't criticize me for mine.

Thanks Hector. And a big thanks to all the admin and moderators for a great site. I feel that I am getting more out of it than I am contributing, but I hope my minor contributions give some of you joy.
