The sad news has been shared on Facebook by his family that the last remaining Walker Brother is gone. Gary Walker (born Gary Leeds) was drummer and backing vocalist for the group and his passing marks the final farewell to one of the most brilliant - and peculiar - entries in the annals of popular music, combining blue-eyed soul with baroque pop in a way quite unlike anyone else. John may have been the initial founder and driven leader, Scott the reluctant star and eccentric genius, but it was Gary who convinced the American trio to relocate to the UK where they found their success. Without him it’s unlikely we’d be talking about these faux siblings all these years later. Reunited tonight.
