Tony sent me a birthday message on Facebook and closed it with "Back in hospital". I have no further details but he appears to have had a set back in his recovery.
Get well soon Mr D.
RAM:
I just had a phone call from Tony and to say that he has been in the wars is an understatement.
Around the second week of December he had an episode and ended up on the floor in his lounge room. He couldn't get up or reach the phone. He's not sure exactly how long he was on the floor but it was 5-7 days... without food or water. Much longer and the outcome may have been dire.
It turns out he had a golden staph infection and couldn't walk or talk. His condition improved and he was sent home on Christmas Eve but relapsed soon after and has been back in hospital ever since. Despite undergoing just about every test known to medical science the source of the infection has not been identified. He is currently being treated with strong antibiotics and hopes to be well enough to get released in a couple of weeks time, but only time will tell. I've detailed just a fraction of what Tony's been through, but he sounds pretty good considering the gravity of his experience that would have worn the best of us down. Probably his biggest gripe is the hospital food.
He doesn't have his laptop with him, just his phone and tablet which both bomb out with the 404 ERROR message when he tries to log onto Ausrock, hence his prolonged absence. I told him of the many messages of concern/support that his Ausrock mates have posted and asked if he minded me sharing his story with you all, which he was happy for me to do.
Cheers,
RAM

Wow thanks RAM, that has been a horrendous past few months for Tony, let alone being collapsed and alone on the floor for all of that time. He's a lucky lad that he is slowly recovering because as you said, the outcome could easily have been worse. Please wish him all the best for a speedy recovery, because we all certainly miss him around here.
